Swingdon Hill

Water Tower at turbine site
A proposed turbine at Swingdon, Ashwater, near Holsworthy, was granted planning permission at appeal in 1994. It was renewed in 1998 and varied to increase the height to 226ft to the blade tip in 1999.

This water tower is about 20 m is at the proposed turbine site. It was easily visible from about a mile away.

Higher Beckett Farm

Higher BeckettThe Higher Beckett site was on the line of hills in this photo, taken from near Ashwater church.


Plans for 3 x 300ft high wind turbines at Higher Beckett Farm near Ashwater were rejected,  and in January 2004 National Wind Power  suddenly withdrew their appeal against this decision.




Broadwoodwidger

xI know very little about the possibility of this site....
This photo was taken in the Broadwoodwidger direction from a nearby road.

The only information  I have is from the Country Guardian Red Booklet, which mentions a failed plan for 3 x 0.3 turbines and quotes a grid reference SX4189
