Bradworthy

Bradworthy Square
Bradworthy is very much a living village. It is the kind of village I would like to live in, as a person who doesn`t drive a car, and so I am especially sorry that it has become famous for being the first village in Devon to have giant turbines forced upon it.
Bradworthy is about seven miles from Holsworthy and 14 miles from Bideford. It is also close to the North Cornish coast.
It is famous for its Square, which is the largest village square in the West of England, and it has shops, a pub, a church and a doctor.

You can read more about the village on a very good website called

Another website of interest is

near Tamar lake
Tamar Lakes are very close to Bradworthy.
This photo was taken in 2004, just by one of the lakes

Another interesting website is
http://www.appraisal.bradworthy.co.uk/report/environment/index.php5
It has some interesting findings about wind power, including reference to a survey saying that 95% of locals opposed wind farms being sited near Bradworthy
