About the Tarka Trail and the Taw EstuaryThe Tarka Trail starts at Branstaple in North Devon. It follows the path used by Tarka the Otter in Henry Williamson`s book, and includes stretches of the old railway lines. Among places it visits are Ilfracombe, Bideford, Yorrington and Hatherleigh, and I walked along parts of it several times during my walk.
